Information Provided

This web site provides information reflecting the contents of a standard Rates Assessment Notice and publicly available GIS (Geographical Information System) information and maps. 

When new information is made available to the Council, it is updated to the site as soon as is practicable (per Section 28C (3) of the Local government (Rating) Act 2002).

Information Not Provided

This web site does not provide the following information:

• details about the property owner(s) such as their name and postal address
• details about the property occupier(s)

• you can obtain accurate information relating to legal title from Land Information New Zealand (LINZ)
• a Surveyor can provide you with accurate information relating to property boundaries

The Privacy Act 1993

In compliance with The Privacy Act 1993, Manukau City Council collects and holds certain information about ratepayers and residents of Manukau city.  This information is required for lawful purposes, used in the functioning of Manukau City Council, and is sourced in accordance with Principal 2 of the Act.

How Information is Managed and Used

Personal information provided to Manukau City Council ('the council') may be held, used and disclosed by the Council in the following ways:

1. To enable the council to communicate with you for any purpose.
2. To enable the council to provide you, or have provided to you, advice and information concerning products and services that the Council believes may be of interest to you.
3. To enable the council to administer and maintain its records and carry out its required functions.

Other Information Restrictions

On 1 May 2003 new legislation came into effect which prevents Councils from making available property owner or occupier details on GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or any web sites.  Therefore, under the terms of this legislation, this information is not provided to the general public on this web site.
